The Stuyvesant High School Alumni Association held one of its first in-person events open to students this school year on February 17 in the Murray Kahn Theater. The program featured author and mathematician Milo Beckman (’11) and his recently published book “Math Without Numbers.”
Health and physical education teacher Dr. Anna Markova has initiated a painting project to take place in the hallway by the music classrooms, planning to incorporate student designs and collaborate with professional artists to paint the hallway with musical themes.
ARISTA started new virtual efforts for the spring, including Office Hours, and has continued to work on initiatives from the fall, such as the District 1 Pilot Program Initiative and partnerships with the Invisible Hands organization and other high schools.
In order to bolster student engagement during remote learning, Stuyvesant has begun various schoolwide community building initiatives, including tours around the buildings, homeroom Mix&Match meetings, and Flipgrid conversations.
