SophFrosh SING!: Bethany and Ad Astra Split into Two Directions
Spec Humor’s real SophFrosh SING! review.
Reading Time: 1 minute
They were goin’ up, up, up (far, far past the juniors). It was their moment (until Senior SING! went on, that is). Still, SophFrosh brought a shockingly… dare I say… decent show.
Before the show, SophFrosh passed out signs to support the singers in the competition. However, upon further examination, they were actually picket signs for the costumes department, which is still on strike for better working conditions in the factory. The costumes directors told their members, “Stray, kids!” and that they did… for the whole SING! season. Due to the strike, SophFrosh had to purchase nearly all of their costumes, including Sam’s new jeans.
Then, the show started. Right off the bat, we were greeted with a dispute to rival NewJeans’ legal battles. At least this one was quick. Once Bethany walked out and debuted her solo career, Ad Astra scrambled to fill her spot. Somehow, SophFrosh predicted the entire future of K-Pop, namely, Enhypen’s Heeseung going single. What sets Enhypen apart from Ad Astra, however, is their fan base. While Enhypen fans cry in despair and tear their photo cards into pieces, Ad Astra fans simply move on. Quite quickly, to be honest. Miraculously, the group found a single person who can SING! (haha), and they’re off to the survival competition. In the end, Bethany’s departure was better for Ad Astra since her choreography consisted of more hair flips than dance moves.
There, we are introduced to the true main characters: Two Direction (dubbed 2D by their fans). With their incredible, jaw-dropping, awe-inspiring performance of their award-winning single “I Want a Girlfriend,” they gained a loyal fan base comprising 76 percent of Stuyvesant’s entire population. Whether it be students humming in the halls, ringtones coming from inside a pocket that definitely does not fit a phone pouch, or the custodian’s speaker echoing through the halls after school, you are sure to hear at least one Two Direction song in the days following SING!. We honestly have no idea what happened at the end of the show since we were processing Bethany’s sabotage of 2D. We, The Spectator, demand a recount! This was a rigged show! #justicefor2D
